We have had a bad winter – maybe the worst ever. Illness, constant rain, life; even Christmas was cancelled. But it’s over now and it’s great. This spring was just the loveliest with better blossom than we have ever seen, the guests are all nice and friendly and tidy with good dogs – returning customers or people who are newly discovering Dale Farm and loving it. The weather today is stunning with birds singing and insects buzzing. I’ve started walking Jack on the beach very early – 8am if I can when there are just a few regulars down there – and it lifts the heart and mind.
Is it really the best spring/summer or do you have to go through difficulties to really appreciate the daily normal. A nice meal, a visit from a friend, an entertaining TV series, getting all your jobs done, a good night’s sleep, some new makeup. Enjoy the everyday stuff because bucket list days are rare. (I actually don’t have a bucket list – I’m not a skydiving type of person – but I would like to travel by Eurostar at some point!)
Any road, hope to see you at Dale Farm this summer. Light a fire, cook some sausages, sit on a sunny bench and enjoy your morning coffee. Amazing.
