Usually at this time of year we are breathing a sigh of relief, eager for autumn after a busy August. Have to say this year has actually been one of our most peaceful and incident free. I’d say 50% of our customers have been repeat guests and we have generally had really great friendly interesting people. Compared to the Covid Staycation madness it’s been heaven.
Yes we have had the odd ‘challenging’ guest – generally people booking last minute accommodation because the sun is shining and it might not be quite their thing. Best not book the WiFi dead zone summerhouse for 2 teenage boys (although they loved playing football on the field instead.) If you don’t like insects better to book one of our ‘non-glamping’ options.
It can also sometimes be hard balancing groups who want to have fun together and couples who just want to listen to the owls. It’s usually fine but occasionally I do have to intervene … usually with my own family to be honest. The best summer evenings are when all the quiet couples make friends and have fun as a group round the camp fire.
Sometimes in summer we do receive a comment in our reviews that people want more amenities. Well we have Wifi, parking, cooking facilities, BBQs etc but I think they mean entertainment – hot tubs, club houses, playgrounds and so on. That is true…we are just not that kinda place. But, if you are in doubt, for a list of amenities at Dale Farm please see above…
